It's the Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle! This isn't the ordinary "Lego" set that I grew up with. This Lego set has hinges and doors, flames on torches, stairs that swivel, and much, much more. It's AMAZING! My In-Laws had as...
Happy 5th Birthday, Emma!!!
My baby is turning 5 today. She is SOOO excited about this age, and the fact that the dentist told her 2 days ago that her two bottom teeth were loose. I keep telling her she's going to look like a jack-o-lantern but she doesn't seem to mind:) I received the Picaboo book in the mail yesterday and it's all wrapped up and ready for Emma to open up. It came out REALLY nice. Can't believe I...

Vita Mix Blender – The Kitchen Appliance No Home Should Be Without
I've got to be honest with you. I hate infomercials. I also don't care much for sales Kiosks where fast-talking snake oil salesmen wearing headset microphones attempt to mesmerize you with their clever words and trivial knowledge. In fact, the Vita Mix blender Kiosk at our local Costco had been up and running for several months before we finally approached it during one of our latest visits. Prior...

Free Coupons & Samples!!

Posted By: Elena on March 20, 2010 in All Natural, Coupons, Organic, Samples - Comments: 1 Comment »

Remember a few weeks ago when I told you about a bunch of organic and natural companies that would send you FREE coupons if you requested them? Well I’ve continued to email them and I have being receiving some wonderful coupons!

Today, I received 4 coupons from Apple & Eve for their organic juices. Two were valued at $0.50 each and the other two were for $1.00 each. My daughter loves their juice boxes, so I’m thrilled to have some new coupons for those.

I also received a bunch of coupons from Amy’s. Amy’s has an entire line of natural and organic foods ranging from burritos to enchilada’s to lasagna and cakes. I actually haven’t had any of their foods before, so I look forward to trying them. They sent a coupon book which contained five $0.75 coupons and one $0.50 coupon. They also sent me one $0.55, one $0.75 and one $1.00 coupon. That’s a total of 9 coupons just for asking! They were extremely generous with their coupons.

Last week I also received a couple $0.55 coupons from Arrowhead Mills. I have not tried them before either but look forward to their breads.

Clif sent me a sample of their “Clif Kid Organic Twisted Fruit”- strawberry flavor which Emma ate up within seconds of receiving:)

Mrs. Meyers was generous with 5 samples. 4 dish washing liquid soaps and 1 baby shampoo.

And last but not least, I received two $0.75 coupons from Rudi’s Organic Bakery.

Special thanks to Amy’s, Apple & Eve, Arrowhead Mills, Clif, Mrs. Meyers and Rudi’s Organic Bakery for these wonderful coupons!

Earth Grains Bread

I recently purchased Earth Grains Whole Wheat Bread. We enjoyed it very much and LOVE that it’s 100% natural.

You can print out a coupon for $0.75 off a loaf from their site. If your store doubles coupons, as does mine, you will be able to save $1.50. This past week Harris Teeter had the loaf on sale for $2.50, so with this coupon, you’d only pay $1 for 100% natural bread!

Free Coupons!!

Posted By: Elena on February 27, 2010 in All Natural, Coupons, Organic - Comments: No Comments »

Remember last week when I told you about a bunch of organic and natural companies that would send you FREE coupons if you requested them? Well I emailed 8 of them and 3 have already sent me coupons!

Yesterday, I received (3) $1.00 coupons from Ians. Then today, I received (2) $0.35 coupons from Radlo Foods and 8 coupons from Earthbound Farm.

What surprised me the most was that 2 out of the 8 coupons that Earthbound Farm sent were for FREE items up to $5.99 value!!! Right there it’s like getting $12 for FREE! I LOVE Earthbound Farm products, so I am very excited about these coupons. I know their organic strawberries sell for $5.99 at Harris Teeter and as strawberries are part of the “dirty dozen” list, it’s important to buy those organically grown.

The other six coupons included were (2) $0.55, (1) $0.75 and (3) $1.00. All of these coupons begin with a “5” in the upc code, so they will double if your store doubles coupons.

Earthbound Farm also included a Pocket Guide to Going Organic which was adapted from the EWG’s Dirty Dozen list, so this is a great handy guide to carry around when you are grocery shopping.

Special thanks to Earthbound Farm, Radlo Farms, and Ian’s Natural Foods for these wonderful coupons!

I’ve Started Buying Organic Foods

Posted By: Elena on February 11, 2010 in All Natural, Lowes Foods, Organic - Comments: No Comments »

This week I focused on buying some organic foods to add to our pantry and fridge.  Because I began stockpiling food last year, I still have a lot of conventional food in my pantry.  We are really focusing on finishing it all, so that we can make the switch over to healthier, natural and organic foods.  Here is a picture of the items we picked up.

My daughter Emma wanted some string cheese so I bought her the Horizon organics brand.  Unfortunately, she didn’t like the taste too much.  I thought they were REALLY good.  I have had quite a few brands of string cheese before and thought they were all pretty rubbery.  So I finished off her first stick.  Today, she asked for another one….and she ate the whole thing!

I think it’s a matter of getting used to the new textures and flavors with organics.  Some things don’t taste that good while others taste better.  It’s also tough when you are used to eating so many things with High Fructose Corn Syrup and now you aren’t eating them.  I know there is an “adapting” phase to go through, but I hope with a bit of time and an open mind, we will all get used to healthier, “pesticide-free” foods.

I look forward to trying the Heinz organic ketchup.  I LOVE Heinz ketchup!  It’s always been my favorite brand of Ketchup.  I am interested in trying other brand “organic” ketchups, but wanted to start with my favorite one first to compare the taste with something familiar to me.

The Full Circle Chocolate Chip cookies were really good.  Emma seemed to really enjoy them.  We had some friends over and they enjoyed them too!

The tomato puree from Full Circle is a favorite of mine.  I bought it for the first time about a year ago when I needed it for a recipe and it was really good.  I have been buying it ever since.  I tried the Hunt’s tomato puree once and my sauce did not come out as good.   So far, all the things I have purchased from the Full Circle brand have been really good.  I highly recommend them.

Stacy’s Pita Chips

Posted By: Elena on February 10, 2010 in All Natural, Coupons, Stacy's Chips, Trader Joes - Comments: No Comments »

My favorite chips in the world are Stacy’s Simply Naked Pita Chips! They are absolutely delicious with or without something on them. Lately, I have been eating them with guava paste and a 1 year reserve gouda cheese from Trader Joes (that’s awesome!!). I know….it’s quite fattening but a girls gotta have her fix every once in a while:)

There’s a $1 off coupon good for one 8 oz. (any flavor) bag of Stacy’s Chips available on the All You website.

Thanks, Free Snatcher!
